Liepaja Town Centre & Kuldiga
Till midday haven't gone out from the hostel. Nice walks surrounding the station with my lovely laptop. At the end when I got there, there was no other bus in two hours. But it was great, because I didn't want to leave Liepaja without visiting something.. apart from the Sun. So that I went to the town centre, there were kids and teenage attractions like in Summer at Portonovo. With different music of course, here was kind of hard-dance and sometimes a melodic hardcore that I would have gone out from my mind with it. There was a peaceful green park befoure reaching the beach. I walked like half an hour without shoes&shocks. It was a sunny&windy beautiful day with no clouds. I tried water with my hand thinking was going to be frozen.. but I reckon like Oza's or any galician beach. There were some having a bath. I kept on checking the park along the beach, with many kind of different sports like Tennis, Mini-Golf, Fronton,Sk8 parks, basketballs, kidsparks with many attractions to play with, structures made of wood from the trees of the park, pedal cars for kids...I don't know, many many kind, and of course volleybeach, between the vegetation which protected that part of the beach from the wind. Was great. Later, before going to the station again, cathedrals and churches very curious. I came across with the tourist information point where I filled a bit my laptop case. After that with no stop to the station, where I arrived when the driver was driving back the bus to go out. He remind me to one of those who work in my dorm of Perugia -ask for description details that I won't giv'em here-.
The bus station was like..in the middle of nowhere, with nothing around it. I just moved to one side and I saw a signal saying "Centers" so I said..they add by mistake one "s", keybord things, normal xd It was about one or two kilometers from the centre, but with a very cute lake where there was a couple sitting on a bench, very romantic for the way from the station to the centre lol. There was always the same tower (from Kuldiga's St. Anne's Evangelic Lutheran Church) which could be watched from everywhere. It got a point when I was wondering..what the hell am I doing here? I meant.. why did I came here? Because I knew there were nice caves but seemed far away from the town in the map. I wouldn't have found my response unless I'd gone to the tourist info point. It was opened, but first I entered wrongly in a leather workshop, where an old woman invited me to enter happily. By surprise there wasn't any kind of paper with information so I just have a looked at what she had there, very interesting, I will come back later (as the English guy from the 1st day would have said LOL). So, when I asked the guy who was working there, what to see here? He answered, nothing but Ventas Rumba -the waterfalls-, the only thing it has to see. And I say yeah! That was why I came here specially for. The widest waterfalls of Europe with 249 m. But, couldn't believe there was no other thing to see. I asked him about the caves and they were just only 4 kms away, but at half past five, there should be close. Because they are private. I actually filled in my laptop case with tourist papers and stuff. My god, now it was really heavy. About 20 different things I should had. To the way of the waterfalls, there was also many things like the oldest wooden building in Kurzeme (1670), the court pharmacy (the only building in Kuldiga built according to the German fachtwerk technique), Catherine's Evangelic Lutheran church (1252), a park with Lïvija Rezevska's sculptures, one of the longest brick bridge in Europe 164 m (1874) and the highest waterfall of Latvia 4,5 m. What I liked most, the bridge and the waterfalls. Churches were nice too yeah.
It was time to go, I got the station at 7 and the bus was arriving at the same moment as me. There was nobody in the station. Within 10 mins, people by car, on foot, by plane, rockets, I don't know... were arriving not to let any single place to sit free. It was like this, full. First stop, near the centre, 3 people up and with no place. In the rest of the stops the same and everybody was going to Riga. So.. some of them had to go standed up. The thing was, nobody respects the number you are assigned. But I went as a gentleman at the back in the middle with my all my legs stretched.
